Our team worked in a medium-sized logistics warehouse whose loading docks and concrete access ramps had been colonized by pavement ants. The operations manager had reported the presence of workers in the order preparation area, particularly around the wooden pallets stored on the floor. Paver ants exploit the gaps between concrete slabs in loading docks to establish dense colonies, and their presence in a warehouse poses compliance and safety issues that can affect the company&#8217;s certifications.   <\/p>\n<h2>Industrial Site Inspection<\/h2>\n<p>The inspection was carried out on a Sunday so as not to disrupt operations. The technician examined the loading docks, the outer perimeter of the warehouse, the waste collection area, and the underfloor technical galleries. Four fires were identified: two under the joints of loading docks 2 and 4, one in the cracks in the retaining wall on the east side and a fourth in the gravel embankment along the north side of the building. Inside, transit marks were observed along the walls of the preparation area, following cracks in the concrete floor. The presence of food debris from the staff cafeteria had attracted the ants to the interior. The assessment also identified several unsealed expansion joints between the sections of the industrial floor, providing direct access from the outdoor fireplaces.     <\/p>\n<h2>Structured industrial processing<\/h2>\n<p>The treatment protocol for this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.novaextermination.com\/en\/ants\/pavement-ants\/\">extermination of pavement ants<\/a> in Saint-Hubert was designed for an industrial context. Outside, perimeter spraying with microencapsulated insecticide created an active barrier around the entire building. The loading docks received an application of granular baits in the joints and around the high traffic areas. Weatherproof bait stations were installed along the retaining wall and gravel embankment. Inside, the floor expansion joints were treated by injecting a long-lasting dry insecticidal powder, without affecting the functionality of the industrial floor. An inspection of the cafeteria led to recommendations on food waste management. Priority corrective actions included repointing the loading docks with freeze-resistant and freeze-thaw resistant industrial mortar, installing flexible joint covers on the interior expansion joints, and improving the organic waste collection system. To maintain certifications and avoid business interruptions, an annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.novaextermination.com\/en\/prevention-services\/\">pest prevention plan<\/a> has been put in place. A follow-up visit was conducted six weeks after treatment and confirmed complete colony removal in all treated areas.
