The situation had developed discreetly, favoured by the accumulation of boxes of goods and by residual humidity near the refrigerated unit. Bromont being a major urban centre, not far from Mirabel, this type of establishment receives many deliveries that can be vectors for the introduction of pests. Our team of exterminators carried out a structured intervention to deal with the infestation without disrupting the commercial activities of the establishment.   <\/p>\n<h2>Inspection of the storage room and the sales area<\/h2>\n<p>The inspection began with the aft reserve, the main confirmed area of activity. Our technician thoroughly inspected the storage shelves, merchandise cartons, spaces under pallets, and areas around the refrigerated unit. Sticky traps were set in the corners and behind the equipment to accurately assess population density. Oothecae were found behind a fixed display at the back of the auction room, indicating that cockroaches had begun to migrate to the commercial space. Inspection of the areas under counters and around checkout equipment has fortunately shown that activity is still limited in this sector. Quickly identifying the limits of the infestation is a priority in a food business: it is what makes it possible to target the treatment effectively and limit its impact on daily operations. We recommended that the owner systematically unpack the products as soon as they arrived, dispose of empty boxes outside as soon as possible and do not store unnecessary boxes in the storeroom. Structural measures were also suggested: sealing cracks in the storeroom floor, improving ventilation to reduce humidity, and installing seals around the pipes. A personalized <a href=\"https:\/\/www.novaextermination.com\/en\/prevention-services\/\">pest prevention plan<\/a> for this type of business was given to the owner, including a monthly control grid to be carried out by the staff. The second follow-up, four weeks after the initial treatment, revealed no signs of activity. The owner incorporated the preventative recommendations into his daily operating procedures and signed a quarterly monitoring contract to keep his facility pest-free.
