How to recognize the mosquito
Correctly identifying the pest is the first step in a long-lasting treatment. How do I know if the mosquitoes in my house are Aedes (carriers of the West Nile virus)?
The Aedes has characteristic white stripes on its legs. But identification with the naked eye is difficult: we install CO2 traps to identify the species present before adapting the treatment.
Is larvicide treatment dangerous for my plants or pool?
No. The Bti (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis) we use is targeted at mosquito larvae and does not affect plants, animals or humans. It is a Health Canada registered biologic.
How long does the effect of a treatment last?
4 to 6 weeks for larvicide, 2 to 3 weeks for targeted adulticide. A seasonal contract from May to September covers the entire season.
Can I get rid of mosquitoes myself by emptying puddles?
This is the first useful step (elimination of larval sites), but often insufficient. Poorly maintained gutters, forgotten saucers and hard-to-keep dry puddles quickly return to their role as nurseries.
How long before the mosquito is totally eliminated?
Allow 2 to 6 weeks depending on the species’ cycle. A visible reduction appears from the first week. Complete elimination occurs after all the eggs present have hatched and the second wave has been treated.
What exactly does the written warranty cover?
